Hamilton Jenkin’s Mines of Devon
Here we go, gathering the information needed for the second layer of my visual bibliography of Dartmoor Mining. A project I was inspired to launch by William Crossing’s ‘A Hundred Years on Dartmoor’, but I suspect it is one that will take many years to complete.

This layer the opportunity to bring in a arge number of mine names. It is an index of those mention by A. K. Hamilton Jenkin, and because of the sheer number of mines The posts will be split alphabetically. Starting of course at A.
Hamilton Jenkin produced a series of much sought after books on Cornish and Devon mining. His work describes a huge numbers of mines including many of the small adventures that are not listed by other authors.
Unlike his work on Cornish mines, which is only available in a large number of small books, his book on Devon mines is published as one publication.

This list gives the page number of the entry in the book, and the Grid Reference listed in the back of the book.
